About Jane's Home Kitchen and Chef Jane Sykes
Jane’s Home Kitchen is owned and operated by Jane Sykes, a professional, culinary trained chef, who graduated from Leith’s School of Food and Wine in London, England. She has been cooking professionally both in the UK and US for 20 years and regularly cooks for demanding clients for both their casual family dinners and formal entertaining. She lives in McLean, Virginia.

Jane loves sharing her passion for cooking and entertaining by teaching others. She has taught at Viking Homechef, run kids cooking camps,locally and on US Air Force bases all over the country, run and after school kids cooking clubs. She was Resident Chef at Sur La Table in San Francisco, running the culinary program there. She now teaches privately and will work with clients to teach them anything they want to learn how to cook.
Jane is a firm believer in ‘you are what you eat’ and uses only natural fresh ingredients which are organic and locally grown*. Her food is always wholesome, healthy, nutritious, satisfying, great tasting and beautifully presented. Her style produces maximum appeal with minimum fuss.
Signature dishes and specialties include: Fresh soups made from homemade stock, Salmon Wellington, Beef Tenderloin with Wild Mushroom Sauce, Leek Tart, Lamb Tagine, Margarita Chicken, Pork in Pomegranate Sauce, Homemade Ice Cream Cake, Pecan Shortbread Squares, Lemon Tart, Chocolate Mousse Torte.
